Therlene Ramos sits with her son Sammy Yabbara who's burried in the military section of the cemetary on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in southeast Arizona. Ybarra was often seen wearing a necklace of human ears and was known for scalping dead prisoners an civilians. "He drank to forget about what he did," she said. "He was a normal person before he went to Vietnam. When he comes back, he was an alcoholic, smoking. He was not the same person. He was alive but dead."
